Founded in 2003 (the first vintage was 2005) Trisaetum is the brain-child of artist James Frey, whose paintings adorn the walls of his stylish winery and tasting room. The winery is in Ribbon Ridge where a third of their vineyards are based, the remainder are to the west in Yamhill Carlton: The Coastal Range and in Dundee on the famous red volcanic soils: the Wichmann vineyard. James`s family have their origins in Alsace and so he has Riesling in the blood! He makes dry and off-dry examples from each of his sites alongside the more typical Pinot Noirs. The Wichmann Pinot Noir was the wine which really grabbed our attention: so pure and unforced, it really could have come from one of our favourite Burgundy growers.
