Jim Prosser – owner and winemaker of J.K. Carriere – makes some of the best wines in our Oregon portfolio. His wines (like his mentor, Christophe Roumier, in Chambolle with whom he worked in the late 90s) are tightly-wound, built to age, revealing their hidden nuances over time. After making wine under the JK label since 1999, he finally settled on 40 acres of volcanic hillside land on the southeast flank of Parrett Mountain, in the Chehalem Mountains AVA. We loved Jim’s wines from the moment we tasted them. Wines of strength, of lean muscle, dark-fruited, the bright, beautifully managed acidity acting as a conductor through which the whole complex orchestration flows.
